SETTING UP “YOUR DOMAIN” E-MAIL
ACCOUNTS
For all sites hosted with
PVNS.NET
This mail service is for PVNS.net web
hosting customers with their own domain names. PVNS hosted sites can set up
their own private mail server accounts with up to 20 e-mail addresses.
To connect to your e-mail
administration site go to
http://wmail.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/qmailadmin
(substitute your domain EX. - kilroy.com or kilroy.net or kilroy.org etc.)
The following installs the account/s in
the mail server
(do this for each new
account)
Enter
'postmaster' as the username. (It may already be there)
Enter your domain name (without the
http://www) EX - mydomain.com)
Type in your password. (Don’t know it? call us 386-749-2832)
Click on 'New E-mail Accounts'.
Type in a name for the new email pop account. (* No spaces)
(EX. info@yourdomain.com)
Enter the password you would like to use for this account.
Type in your Full Name in the 'Real Name' text box.

The following sets the account in the users computer
Go to
the account properties that you would like to setup.
Add the e-mail address: Example info@yourdomain.com (or .net or
.org etc)
For POP3 incoming mail server, type pop3.yourdomain.com
For SMTP outgoing mail server, type smtp.yourdomain.com
Under password type in the password you had setup above for this account.
Under username type the account name followed by @yourdomain.com
Example:
info@yourdomain.com NOTE: use the
complete e-mail address for the username
To set up a mailing list in your mail administration panel
Click
new mailing list and add the name to your list (example
list@mydomain.com) and the list moderators e-mail address that you have
already set up as shown above. Use the default settings in the page you are on
unless you see something you want to change. Click ADD at the bottom of the
page. The add subscribers is self explanatory. Only the moderator can send to
the list unless you add another moderator. To send to the list, simply type the
list name in your e-mail address space as you normally do to send an e-mail.
(example list@yourdomain.com) and click Send. You may get a rejection
back in a few minutes. This is a security feature to let you verify that you are
the actual sender. All you need to do is click Reply and then Send again. You
may set up more lists if you need to.

This feature is not meant for large mass mailings and is certainly not to be
used for
Spam. If this list is used for the purpose of sending large quantities
of unwanted mail to random recipients, it will put our business in jeopardy and
we will be forced to remove your website and your e-mail service ASAP. This list
is provided as a tool to help you communicate with your customers and others who
may have a valid interest in your products or services.
